Courtney grew up in New Mexico right at the border of Colorado. Originally, she wanted to be an attorney, which would probably shock a lot of people who know her personally, later she changed that to a Pediatric nurse or teacher. Courtney had 15 successful years in multifamily property management. She developed a team atmosphere and encouraged her team to learn and grow within their personal and professional lives. Her residents knew how much she cared and she treated each community she managed as if it were her home.
She decided to start a new career path in new home construction where she accepted a wonderful opportunity as a Purchasing Coordinator. Courtney shares “I enjoyed all of the challenges in Purchasing. I take the most pride in the relationships I built with our contractors and being that support system for our hard-working construction managers.” She later accepted a Starts Coordinator position within Chesmar that was an entirely new challenge but she was very excited and ready to take it on!
When asked what makes Chesmar special she says “To me, Chesmar is family, not just to our fellow Chesmarians, but to our customers and contractors. Let’s face it, we spend more time with each other than we do our own families so we better have fun and support each other it makes the days a lot more enjoyable. The Chesmar team strives to live by our values. I find myself even saying our values at home with my children, especially “Do the right thing, it is the right thing to do!” We as Chesmarians realize that we are all in this together no matter what role you play within our company we all play a huge part in our success. We couldn’t do our job without the other person doing theirs. The end result is a happy customer with a beautiful home to make precious memories in. We give back to the community. We roll up our sleeves and help our fellow Chesmarians out when they need it.”
When Courtney isn’t at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, best friend, and fellow Chesmarian Michael Kinsey and their two sons Bryson and Baylen. They enjoy going to the Round Rock Express games, bike rides, walks, pizza movie nights, pretending to be superheroes, grilling out, watching our boys play t-ball and soccer, put-put golf, science experiments with the boys, baking with the boys, playing with their golden retriever Abby, and she especially loves date nights with her hubby. Courtney enjoys reading when she gets a chance to, music, gardening and playing family board games.
Her favorite quote is “Be yourself, no one can say you are doing it wrong.” -Snoopy
