Meet the Family

Jackie Van Meter

New Home Consultant

Driven, honest, and outgoing, are three words to describe Jackie. When she was younger she hoped to be a chef or a Broadway dancer. Jackie moved from the Midwest to Austin with her family in 2013 to enjoy a better quality of life and escape the harsh winters. Having 20 years of experience in the publishing industry, Jackie has been successful with building brands and helping customers achieve their sales goals.
After working locally in Austin with many real estate professionals, developers, and home builders, Jackie is enthusiastic about using her interpersonal skills to help customers with the process to build their Chesmar dream home. Being passionate about building relationships while valuing honesty and integrity, Jackie will work hard to assist every buyer to exceed their expectations.

When not selling homes, Jackie enjoys spending time with her two daughters, husband, and their dog Eddie at many of Austin’s watering holes. Jackie is a yoga enthusiast, enjoys reading, listening to live music, and spending time with her family. As a family, they enjoy their daughter’s activities, her husband’s music, hanging out, and some good BBQ. Her favorite quote is “Carpe Diem” (Seize the Day!)

We asked Jackie what she thought was special about Chesmar and she said “What I love most about Chesmar is the family and sense of community. From the first day to the annual company meeting, I’ve had the opportunity to meet other members from the company in all different roles and I am in awe that companies like this still exist. In the homebuilding industry, we try and value every member of our team as each person’s role is important to the success of the project. Every day we set expectations and hope to achieve them for our customers. By having regular communication with our teams and discussing challenges and success, we can improve upon our process. The company is passionate about sharing the growth plan, offering recognition where due, and keeping the family feel for all employees to feel valued and appreciated.”
